4 WHEEL DRIVE

52 Drivers took part for round 3 of the 4wd Regional Series at Teesdale Park Buggy Club. There was a couple of changes to the track from when we here earlier in the year for the 2wd meeting. There was a new feature that you don’t see to often which was a bomb hole that was liked by most drivers, and also a landing ramp had been added for the large jump. The track which although was fast did have some technical features, to add a challenge.

Round by Round was chosen even though it was looking to be a warm day however there was the odd small shower that did add to the mix on the day.

With the unexpected amount of sunshine recently it had lead to the grass being quite dry and dusty. Most drivers chose to use Schumacher Spikes in Yellow compound however there were some drivers experimenting with Ballistic Buggy tyres.

Richard Lowe, Craig Collinson, and Ben Riley were the only drivers to achieve 12 laps however Richard Lowe managed to set the fastest time in 3 of the 4 rounds which gave him TQ.

Greg Williams had a great day he only managed to finish 2 runs however they were good enough for the A final. Well done Greg keep it up.

The A final was led By Richard with Ben giving chase. Ben looked to have the fastest car but kept making mistakes. Even though he was able to catch Richard back up several times he wasn’t able to take the lead from him. Richard took the win with Ben second following a battle with Arslan who finished less then a second behind.

The next and final outdoor Regional meeting will be at York, this will decide who takes the win in both 2 and 4wd.
